Roman Lewicki offers comprehensive Instrument Rating training, designed to elevate your flying skills and expand your opportunities in aviation. Earning your Instrument Rating will make you a more proficient and confident pilot, allowing you to fly in challenging weather conditions that are off-limits to non-instrument-rated pilots, such as fog, low visibility, and early morning departures.

Requirements for Obtaining an Instrument Rating

To earn your Instrument Rating, you must meet the following FAA requirements:

  1. 50 hours of cross-country flight time as Pilot in Command (PIC), with at least 10 hours flown in an airplane.
  2. 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, including:
    • 15 hours of instrument flight training with an authorized instructor (CFII) holding an instrument-airplane rating.
    • 3 hours of instrument flight training in an airplane appropriate to the instrument-airplane rating within 2 calendar months prior to the practical test.
    • Instrument flight training on cross-country flight procedures, including one cross-country flight in an airplane with an authorized instructor (CFII), conducted under instrument flight rules (IFR), involving:
      • A flight of 250 nautical miles along airways or by ATC-directed routing.
      • An instrument approach at each airport on the route.
      • Three different types of approaches using various navigation systems.

Why Train with Roman Lewicki?

Roman Lewicki’s Instrument Rating training is designed to mirror the rigorous structure of Part 141 training, which is known for its systematic approach to flight instruction. Under this method, students progress through a carefully designed curriculum that includes both ground and flight training, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all necessary skills and knowledge.

Here’s how it works:

  • Structured Curriculum: The training follows a detailed syllabus that is sequentially organized, allowing students to build on their knowledge and skills progressively.
  • Consistent Evaluation: Regular assessments and stage checks ensure that students are meeting the required standards before advancing to the next level.
  • Comprehensive Ground School: Ground training covers all aspects of IFR flying, including navigation, weather, and regulations, preparing students thoroughly for both the written exam and practical test.
  • Focused Flight Training: Each flight lesson is designed to practice and master specific instrument flying skills, with a focus on real-world scenarios that a pilot will encounter when flying under IFR.

This approach ensures that by the time you complete your training, you’ll not only meet the FAA requirements but also possess the confidence and competence to handle instrument flying in various conditions.
